"Hassan Salman, who was wounded in the 2007 shootings, told CNN that 16 of the 17 families of the dead agreed to $100,000 lawsuit settlements from Xe, as Blackwater now calls itself. Those wounded were offered between $20,000 and $50,000 apiece, Salman said."
$100,000 seems to me a low figure for a family who lost a loved one because some guards got spooked. Keep in mind that Blackwater's revenue from its contracts in Iraq has exceeded $1 billion, and it turns out they have secret contracts with the CIA that are no doubt high-profit as well.
A 2009 US government audit found that Blackwater had violated terms of the contract and that "Pursuant to the contract, which has cost the government over $1 billion, such violations should have resulted in nearly $55 million in penalties to Blackwater."

What does that say stupid? It is a poem by a famous Iraqi poet about the traitors, a very famous passage. What does it say stupid?
I don't know what that means. Does it say the 3arab jarab should kill Iraqi traitors at a much greater rate than non-Iraqi traitors? Does it say kill the Iraqis if they overthrow the Tikriti mafiosi scum of earth? Does it say kill the Iraqis who want democracy?
I know what this means:
العرب منافقين
العرب مجرمين
العرب جرب
العراقي يكره العرب جرب و الحمار الاردني
الامريكي قتل الحمار الاردني
I know what this means:
العرب كفار
Traitors to Saddam, apparently.
الامريكي قتل الحقير، المجرم الكافر، الحمار الاردني
I betchya Habis landed in America right after America bombed Iraq in 1991.
You like poetry?
I think you are lying stupid. You dont really know what these words mean. They are just two words who someone told you about and taught you how to type it on the keyboard. Someone had to translate it for you first and then teach you how to type it on the keyboard. I figured you out stupid didnt I? Is that why you are so upset?
I would bet you have a little notepad next to your computer where someone wrote down for you what those words mean with arrows and figures and diagrams along with English equivalents. Right stupid? Yes I am right and stupid knows I am right. I would even guess you got really excited when someone taught you how to type those words on the blog. You probably said something like...."Thanks alot this is great...now I am going to get on my blog and when the arabjarab come on I can type these words on there and they will think I know Arabic....I am going to call them arabjarab and then type it in Arabic....wooo whooo wooo whoooo....I am so excited..."
lol
Here is a translation for you from Angry Arab. It loses alot in the translation because Arabic is so much more eloquent, but even a stupid like you can figure out the meaning. Too bad that you do not read Arabic. If you did you would not only be able to read the original poem but you can also sign up for the puppet police and go get trained by the Hashemite arabjarab in Jordan. Even the losers, traitors, and jarab would reject you. How sad for you and how stupid of you.
The Informer by Iraqi poet Badr Shakir As-Sayyab
"I am what you want:
I am contemptible
The shoe shiner for the conquerors,
and the vendor of blood and conscience for tyrants.
I am a crow
feeding off the corpses of
chicken. I am destruction,
I am ruination!
The lip of the harlot
is more chaste than my heart,
and the wings of flies
are purer and warmer
than my hands. As you wish...
I am contemptible!
I have a rudimentary understanding of Arabic. I know the Iraqi dialect pretty well, and I've learned how to type ever since I found the right language input settings on my awesome American computer. bes ani ma ahchi falastizi, lol.
I do want to learn more Arabic. My vocabulary is not good, and therefore I do not fully understand the Iraqi poem you so graciously posted. I recognize one of the words as "corpses" and another as "blood".
Does the poem say that the Shia are worse than Jews and Christians, and that Allah will reward you if you spill their blood?
Ah, thank you for the translation. It figures that As3ad Abu Khara (Happiest Father of Shit) would post a poem about Arab traitors from his home in America! No wonder you like him. You have much in common with him, like all 3arab jarab who hate America while living in America.
The Angry Jarab are good at condemning their "traitors" but they are not good at fighting their "traitors" like they fight Iraqi "traitors". The Angry Arab, like most Arabs, is angered by bombings of Iraqis only when America does the bombing. Otherwise the victims are merely "traitors" I suppose.
Arab American "intellectuals" condemn Iraqis who work with Americans, while the schmucks work and live in America. The irony is surreal.
The Arabs are the biggest hypocrites in the world.
But the Angry Arab posted a pic of Mohammad Dahla with that post.
Mohammad Dahlan, I mean. How many of Dahlan's men have the Arab "resistance" killed, Habis? How many cafes where Fatah hang out have been bombed?
Not very Nice I.M... They offer you poetry and you tell them that the U.S. is killing Jordanian Infidels..
What are you? On Dumbya's "crusade".
Anyhow,,,back to the topic... you are full of shit ... again....
Didn't you hear about the testimony in the recent Blackwater (Xe) case.
The Grand Mr Prince (founder of Xe) thinks he's a Christian Crusader too, is designating call signs to his men of personalities from the crusades and thinks his troops should go out and kill all Muslims.... and you have the nerve to excuse all killings as "a family who lost a loved one because some guards got spooked"
I have difficulty believing that you are a Muslim, or an Arab, or even a Persian.. or a Druze or Christian; in fact I find it hard to believe that you have any compassion in you, the way you carry on with your pro-invasion rhetoric.
كنت عبادة الموت
To add to the irony, as an American citizen I have voted for: Bill Clinton (92), Bill Clinton (96), Ralph Nader (00), John Kerry (04), and Barack Obama.
I learned more about the Iraqi who wrote that poem:
Badr Shakir al Sayyab (Arabic: بدر شاكر السياب) (December 24, 1926 - 1964) is an Iraqi and Arab poet, born in Jekor, a town south of Basra in Iraq. The eldest child of a date grower and shepherd.[1] He graduated from the Higher teachers training college of Baghdad in 1948.[2] Badr Shakir was dismissed from his teaching post for being a member of the Iraqi communist party.[3]
IraqiMojo "I hope you are one of those who is genuinely interested in the welfare of all Iraqis."
Too fkn right, I care.
Why??
Because as an Australian I feel a sense of culpability.
MY country has supported YOUR country as the primary force in ambitions of EMPIRE.
In apocalyptic terms.... We Followed A Deceiver In To Battle... Bearers of False Witness
Now you too... Don't be a liar/deceiver... you live there, tell us the truth... I know what it's like here, and you guys (Americans) are far far far worse.
OF THOSE THAT SUPPORTED THE INVASION that you heard talk on the streets (Not your Shia friends) How Many Of Those Were Motivated By A Desire To "Liberate" Iraqis??????????
1%,, 2%,,,.
Come-on, spill the beans, how many were into revenge for 911??
I care more about what is happening IN OUR NAME in the Middle East, than I care about what is going on in the land of my parents...Greece.
They have it sweet compared to what your parent's homeland is going through.... Because I'm Culpable!!
You can kiss goodbye any ideas of Iraq blossoming any time soon.
The 1/2 life of Uranium Radioactivity is measured in the 100's of thousands of years.
The land of your mother and father is fucked. Apart from the fact that hospitals, infrastructure, museums are fucked...
Museums...eg...I spend some time on ebay, with an interest in antiques, and recall many many genuine thousands yrs BC Sumerian Cylinder Scrolls for sale on ebay FROM America just after your first batches of troops returned.
Looted!!
Universities.. fucked. Schools...fucked.
Professors and Phd's .... fucked.
You aren't going to see a growth in intellectualism in the next generation,,, even IF the American 'Powers That Be' wanted it to,,, and they don't.... remember 'the deceivers'??
You think the Kissingers and the Perles and the Feiths and the Brzezinskis et.al love Muslims or something???.... Are you fukin nuts????
They hate you fkn guts.
Perhaps you can join in on one of these recent 'Tea parties' or join the 'minutemen'.... I'm sure they will just love your fkn face.
Yes I care, I care deeply.
And unlike you, it seems, I'm fkn disgusted and sickened with some of my fellow countrymen that speak and think the way you do....
And YOUR fkn countrymen are far far worse.
At least we have some resemblance of respect from and for others as a nation of people,,, but you and yours.... take a fkn guess.
Germans have more respect from Europeans than Americans... that's the Big Joke.
And IF this is a democracy, I have every fkn right to say it too.
Have you got any fkn idea of American imperialist history??
Did you watch the video I suggested...
Robert Newman 'History of Oil' on video.google??
I think you should....
Forget your supposed dreams and hopes... this is reality baby.
Phoney, your country has left Iraq and the US will be leaving Iraq. The 3arab jarab, however, continue to mass murder Iraqis. None of my relatives have been killed by Americans. The "resistance" bombed universities and showed the world that they can make life worse for Iraqis than they had it under Saddam.
Stop fighting "imperialism" by killing Iraqis, hmar.
We went, we supported you.
And you ARE nuts.
America, I believe has the largest "temporary"( yea right) US Military Base outside the USA, built out or Bricks and Mortar IN IRAQ...
Temporary my ass.
Sure, Obamma will pull out all "Combat Troops"... You had 100,000 "ADVISORS" in Vietnam at one stage.
A free, united, and self determining Iraq is the last thing that your ZOG wants.
Not that you will answer any of my questions...
Tell me.... assuming there is ANY honest News Media in your nation, which you apparently trust..... When have you EVER seen an accurate translation of the Ahmadinejad alleged 'wipe off the map' speech in your MSM.... hmm? when.... (please site publication for confirmation)
Stop fighting imperialism and occupation by killing Iraqis. PLEASE.
Is that the best you could come back with to legitimate your Blackwater article.
let me repeat my critique..
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Didn't you hear about the testimony in the recent Blackwater (Xe) case.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Come on, I've offered you some choice key words to google there so you can do some homework.
I don't know how much they are paying you... but it's too much.
"A free, united, and self determining Iraq is the last thing that your ZOG wants."
You do realize the acronym "ZOG" was crafted by neo-nazis, right? Its nice to know where you stand...
"When have you EVER seen an accurate translation of the Ahmadinejad alleged 'wipe off the map' speech in your MSM"
The MSM be damned...I form my opinions about that scumbag puppet based on what I hear from my friends who live in Tehran.
"MY country has supported YOUR country as the primary force in ambitions of EMPIRE."
What empire?
Main Entry: em·pire
Pronunciation: \ˈem-ˌpī(-ə)r\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French empire, empirie, from Latin imperium absolute authority, empire, from imperare to command — more at emperor
Date: 14th century
1 a (1) : a major political unit having a territory of great extent or a number of territories or peoples under a single sovereign authority; especially : one having an emperor as chief of state (2) : the territory of such a political unit b : something resembling a political empire; especially : an extensive territory or enterprise under single domination or control
2 : imperial sovereignty, rule, or dominion
The US doesn't rule a damned thing. Not Iraq,or Japan,or any other friend or ally, including Australia.
Most Aussies are tough as nails. Australia is one of only a handful of countries I would count as a true ally. Thankfully, only one in a million Aussies think like Phoney.
Australians are a wonderful people...I would love to get there someday. I met many Aussies while in India and I too, Mauray, am thankful that phonyid represents no one but a deranged fringe.
"$100,000 seems to me a low figure for a family who lost a loved one because some guards got spooked."
Chump change. But,probably tempting when a good job pays $300 a month, and a lawsuit would take years. The family that held out will probably get millions......someday.
I like your new blog style C.H. Looks sharp.
Thanks Maury! Wordpress is more fun, I think :)
C.H."
You do realize the acronym "ZOG" was crafted by neo-nazis, right? Its nice to know where you stand..."
And the term antiSemitism was coined by the 'Proto'-Nazis and look who loves using that term the most..... So What!
Where does that mean they stand??
You make a weak case.
Besides, America embraced all the NAZI's remember operation PAPERCLIP.... we've been through this before.
"The MSM be damned" C.H.
So long as you realise that all Amerikan MSM News Outlets are mouthpieces for the US (former) O.S.I. (Colloquially known, even among Americans, as 'The Office for Strategic Disinformation)
Maury,|
Can you name me a Black Man that did the Don for a duck?
"Where does that mean they stand??"
Go on youtube and search for "Zionist Occupied Government"...its scary.
Have you ever seen the Seinfeld episode where George pretends to be a guy named "O'brien" and takes his limo at the airport?
"OF THOSE THAT SUPPORTED THE INVASION that you heard talk on the streets (Not your Shia friends) How Many Of Those Were Motivated By A Desire To "Liberate" Iraqis??????????

That's all in your mind PhoneyID. The church I attended back in '03 kept a picture board on the wall of members serving in Iraq. They were mentioned in prayers constantly. The war was always front and center. Yet,I never heard anyone talk derisively about Iraqi's or Arabs or Muslims. And I'm about as deep in the redneck south as someone can get.
"Can you name me a Black Man that did the Don for a duck?"
You know things have headed south when the conversation turns to race. The race card is so yesterday PhoneyID. At least in the US. C'mon man....try to keep up.
Quite simply Maury.
I don't believe you.
Disregard my previous question, I thought C.H. suggested you were Australian.
I was leading into a demonstratiion of how myths are created by nations.
And as for your earlier critique, perhaps the word "Imperialism" is easier for you to swallow.
"The race card is so yesterday PhoneyID. At least in the US. C'mon man....try to keep up."
Unfortunately Maury, someone who buys into White Supremacist conspiracies isn't going to understand this.
Come off it C.H.
In a country where you apparently have 60,000,000 Zionists, and a Gov almost entirely Zionist.
How is it not a ZOG?
You tell me then, Why hasn't any of the MSM given the real translation of the alleged 'wipe off the map' speech?
If you'd even dare confirm that it's been 'incorrectly' translated.
Imperialism isn't exactly a fair description either PhoneyID. We got to this current state of affairs because other countries were unwilling to step up to the plate, not because of any desire to rule the world. For instance,90% of troops in Afghanistan are American, despite the fact the Europe had more terrorist attacks originating from that part of the world. Why can't Europe carry its weight? It has virtually the same population and economy, does it not? It was no different during the cold war. Back then, there were more Americans defending Europe than Europeans. Do you really think we wanted to rule Germany or something? Lmao.....
"Why hasn't any of the MSM given the real translation of the alleged 'wipe off the map' speech?"
IDK, why hasn't the msm reported on Iraq in so long? Why did WaPo do a hit-piece on Anbar back in 2006, then forget about it for three years, and then suddenly write another story because some idiot suicide bomber attacked the governor? I don't understand the MSM.
Ahmadine-fraud's government threatens to destroy Israel all the time...there are banners outside of mosques and even shopping centers that say "Death to Israel". Even if it was "incorrectly translated", actions speak louder than words. The man held a Holocaust denying conference with David Duke.
All of this is irrelevant at the moment though, because Ahmadi and his puppet master are too busy trying to wipe unarmed Iranians off the map.
"How is it not a ZOG?"
Because America has alliances and agreements with countries all over the world...the Chinese own most of our debt, are we a Communist-Occupied Government? A COG?
Japan also has a significant stake in our economic sector. Are we a JOG too?
Maury "You know things have headed south when the conversation turns to race. The race card is so yesterday PhoneyID. At least in the US. C'mon man....try to keep up."
Sure thing mate.
An Indian boy was stabbed to death bout a week ago here, another one burned.
Closer to home...my daughter went to school with the daughter of a Chinese man that was stabbed to death about 2 years ago.
Things have changed??? no longer do people find "full garb is confronting" as Howard once said. hey?
People don't find the image of a black man walking out of their driveway more confronting than a white.
You just keep going to Church.
All will be fine in the afterlife.
Perhaps we can pay for our sins in cash.
Can we be a DOG? I know Denmark doesn't own a lot of treasuries, but still.
America has outsourced much of its work-force to India...an Indian was even elected governor of Louisiana. Maybe we've become a HOG (Hindu-Occupied Government)
"Things have changed??? no longer do people find "full garb is confronting" as Howard once said. hey?
People don't find the image of a black man walking out of their driveway more confronting than a white."
Nobody gives a crap what you wear over here matey. As long as your genitals are somewhat covered. And my neighborhood is 80% black,so where you're coming from there is a complete mystery. It sounds like you're stuck in the 60's. Unfortunately, nobody sells a pill for that.
That's right C.H. I've got a Vietnamese Congressman,Indian Governor, and black President. We had the nations only Chinese sheriff until he died recently. He was the country's most popular sheriff btw.
I don't know where PhoneyID is coming from. Honestly. We had a good laugh when New Orleans Mayor declared it a chocolate city a few years back. It's something you'd expect a racist back in the 60's to say. Only, this Mayor was black.
No racism in Louisiana ....
Ok, you're the winner..
"Why are people so indignant with those statements.?"
Because these statements are tossed around by the worst of western society. Or maybe its because there are few people who perpetuate them without having some kind of malicious intent towards Jews.
"Why are you eager do defend inaccurate representations of Iranians and Jews?"
Ahmadinejad is an inaccurate representation of Iranians.
My parish/county is 80% white PhoneyID. Yet,one of my Congressmen is black and the other is Vietnamese. Our Chinese-American Sheriff got re-elected for over 30 years. And yeah,Louisiana has an Indian Governor. Go ahead and think we're racists if you like. We've moved on. You might try and do the same.
You just keep going to Church.
All will be fine in the afterlife.
Perhaps we can pay for our sins in cash.

Funny. PhoneyID :) I like it.
phoneyID I live in Southern California. This is a state consdered much more progressive and is definitely more diverse and the racism here is alive and well. We also have alot of Starbucks. :)
PhoneyID Arabs in Iraq and elsewhere appreciate your opposition to the mass murder of Iraqis, the shock and awe aerial bombardment, killing over 1.5 million human beings, calling foreign occupation liberation, and other offensive language. If stupid knew the language of Iraqis he would know what they are saying but he does not understand them so he has to rely on the memri, the Mossad-run website.
Iraqi Mojo said...
I have a rudimentary understanding of Arabic. I know the Iraqi dialect pretty well
rudimentary? ha ha ha. Yeah right stupid! rudimentary my ass. You are not yet at rudimentary. You probably understand a few words when your grandmother calls out to you or something like that, but that is about it stupid. Or maybe when your family says an Arabic word while they point at what they are saying or make a gesture you can sort of kind of figure out what they are saying stupid.
Listen stupid, do what you did yesterday again for me. Do that thing where you speak for the Iraqi people again. I loved it, loved it! A fucking moron who speaks only english, relies on memri for his information, and sits on his ass in San Francisco California issues press releases in the name of the Iraqi people. ROFLMAO.
So fucking stupid. lol

Google? lol. PhoneyID I like you man. Stay here and we can have some fun with this stupid son of a bitch. "metaphorical kundara" ha ha ha. He needs a real kundara right smack in his ugly face.
You know I think I was wrong when I said he had Arabic fonts on his computer. You are right. He was probably just googling some translations. I have no idea why he hates Starbucks, but he really has a problem with them. I love Starbucks. I can find one on every corner, and they have WIFI in all their locations, and its a nice place to just hang out for a while. I have been through all their flavors. Twice.
You don't reckon he's been taking advice from this American intellectual .
PhoneyID;
I want my Chocolate City!
Habis is a typical Ba’athists low life, but this Greek Australian is perplexing. How does a Greek come to align himself with radical Arabs who seek to kill innocent women and children shopping in markets? What sort of depravity or black sole would spend his night arguing on the side of a Ba’athist cockroach against an Arab man whose family was murdered by Saddam Hussein? This creation evokes the most erroneous and flawed conspiracy theories that exists and then pats him on the back for taking a stand against his own delusions. This mother fucker is one messed up little cockroach.
Aton,we should take pity on people like PhoneyID. Imagine what it's like to walk in his shoes. His own mother would bitch slap him if he shared his views at home. He would be laughed at,ridiculed, and probably committed to an insane asylum if he talked that shit in the real world. The poor thing posts anonymously to this web site because he has nowhere else to dribble. For some people, life just sucks.
Only an Arab would call somebody a "son of a shoe". Westerners, and I presume Australians as well, do not insult others by calling them "ibn al qundarra" (son of a shoe). I'm thinking Phoney may truly be a phoney. He is probably 3arab jarab, or half 3arab jarab, or married to 3arab jarab.
PhoneyID
Good Video. Now they think you are Arab. You say you are Australian and he says you are Arab. I say I am an Arab and last week he called me Irish. He is very stupid.
I accused you of *pretending* to be the "Irish American" who told me to leave America, zmal. Is it not true?
Aton: "How does a Greek come to align himself with radical Arabs"
Just goes to show you how correct the position is.
You also have that Brazilian cartoonist Carlos Latuff, who always does stuff against the occupation and for the resistance.
_______________________________________
C.H.: "Ahmadine-fraud's overnment threatens to destroy Israel all the time"
Not really. He normally doesn't use the word "Israel," to start with.
Ahmadi-Nejad's narrative is basically: all people are good, and the real evildoers are some government officials in Washington and Tel Aviv.
Carlos Latuff does not depict reality in Iraq.
Phoneyid correctly summarizes, how the war began:
►"How Many Of Those Were Motivated By A Desire To 'Liberate' Iraqis????
Come-on, spill the beans, how many were into revenge for 911??"◄
Exactly. Their intention was dirty to begin with.
And that is the original crime: killing for nonexistent WMD - which everybody knew was nonexistent.
And now - we are supposed to be *surprised* that the wonderful "New Iraq," built on the skulls of poor innocent people from 2003, has run into some difficulty.
"And now - we are supposed to be *surprised* that the wonderful "New Iraq," built on the skulls of poor innocent people from 2003, has run into some difficulty."
You lost Dolly, get over it. You, Habis, and PhonyID are writing as if this is 2005...the "resistance" lost. Not a single American soldier has been KIA in almost 2 months. Its safer for an American soldier in Iraq than it is for an American citizen in many of our own cities, for crying out loud.
BTW, Carlos Latuff should be more concerned about his own country, which suffered tens of thousands of deaths, mostly due to the drug trade last year, FAR more than Iraq did to your your heroic child-killers.
You and Habis should just admit that its over. Build up some dignity. Its really embarrassing watching you guys wage a cyber-Jihad because its the only form of "resistance" that doesn't have to answer to the Iraqi Army.
Mojo, was that sub-par cartoon made by some Cross-worshipper who was getting panicky as his "greatest country in the world" was getting destroyed by illiterate villagers and 17 year olds?
Is that when he decided that yesterday's "sand n-words" were now "t3h good Eye-raqiz"?
The cartoon I posted may be sub-par, but it depicted the reality in Iraq in 2006, when Carlos Latuff was encouraging "resistance". He became famous while his beloved resistance mass murdered Iraqis.
Actually I found that cartoon in 2006. It must have been made in 2005 or even 2004.

I mean this as no insult to idiots globally, but the Arabs here are right, you are an idiot.
I've told you I read Layla Anwar's blogs, which you implied you are familiar with,,, presumably while investigating a wide range of Arab opinions in the course of making your 'press releases'.
The whole world heard about the 'shoe thrower' and Dumbya Bush, and millions learned of the significance of the gesture to the Arab world.
Layla, among other insights, taught us about ...
the significance of the shoe to Arabs..

Forgive me for calling your 3arab jarab, phoney. You are Australian Greek jarab.
Please don't protest US invasion by killing Iraqis ya jarab, ya qanadir, ya khanazeer.
I guess it just proves that not all jarab are 3arab.
LOL
Can you translate this ya Australian jarab?
FYI, Australian jarab, your translations were crap. You're right. I should not have suggested you might be Arab, or half Arab, or married to an Arab. You are merely a clueless Australian. Now go back to Layla Anwar's blog and jack off to the "resistance".
"if you tried out for a cheerleader position, you'd be put out the back picking up jock straps."

===============================
Exactly! Thank you Phoneyid. Greek, Australian or from anywhere else you will always be welcomed in our Arab homes and our Arab countries. Thank you for standing up against war, invasion, and the murder of the Iraqi people.
Saddam and his henchmen murdered a million Iraqi people between 1980 and 2003. Did the Australian jarab give a fvck?
So stupid, have you made up your mind? When do you pack up and go out to Iraq to fight the arabjarab? Are you learning Arabic? I think you need that stupid. How will you know which Iraqi is a traitor on your side and which one is the resistance fighter if you do not understand what they are telling you stupid? You are so stupid you might find yourself in a resitance training camp and thinking you are in a puppet police station. How would you tell the difference stupid?
Do that thing again where you speak for the Iraqi people from San Francisco for me. Please. Just one more time. I loved it. I promise if you do just once more I will stop calling you stupid for a day. I will even boycott Starbucks for a week if you do it twice. Please stupid, just one more time. I need a good laugh stupid.
I speak for myself, dickhead. But I know I'm not the only Iraqi who is SICK of the shit-for-brains 3arab jarab, the mass murderers of Iraqis.
"Whereas Arab nationalists and Islamist extremists ended up with a pair of shoes, Iraqis ended up with their sovereignty, democracy, and friendship with the United States. Those hypocrites did not lift a finger to help Iraq at a time of hardship. On the contrary, they used all the means they could muster to bring democratization in Iraq and the Middle East to a halt. But despite the vicious attacks, Iraq and the United States moved hand in hand to overcome the countless obstacles and present the model of reform and democracy that is taking shape with every dispute Iraqis resolve in the parliament and every new brick they lay in a new building." --Iraq The Model
"There is this crude Iraqi proverb:
يدور بالخرة حب رككي
Which translates to: "to go searching in sh*t for watermelon seeds"...
This proverb runs through my head every time I hear one of these 'negative' statements concerning Saddam's hanging:
-He was hanged by Shi'a thugs chanting Mahdi Army slogans.
-The trial was a farce--a kangaroo court. Victor's justice.
-It pissed off Sunni Muslims worldwide because it coincided with the Id al-Adhha, and it is illegal to execute people on religious holidays.
-Boo hoo hoo, big deal, many people are dying now.
Most of these 'begrudgers' never watched the proceedings of the Dujail trial. I remember watching the trial closely and saying to myself, "Tyrants across the Middle East must be having the runs."
Let me make this simple for all those people spewing whatever variants of the above: there is something wrong with your inner core decency if you are not moved by the sight of a horrible tyrant meeting a just end.
You can wade through the pungent slime of your muddled priorities looking for watermelons seeds; looking for flimsy justifications to begrudge the victims of this horrible tyrant their moment of solace--the moment of justice realized.
And you all sound fake: your indignation is belabored. Because it is inhumane not to be moved by this.
The story of Saddam's hanging is not about how Palestinians in Gaza wept over his demise, or the tears shed by Saddam's kinsmen at his grave.
The story is about the victims.
They feel happy, relieved. They feel closure. The restless spirits of the many dead can subside now.
Your talking-points may matter among like-minded parochial selves. History will have another take on this event: the magnitude will be judged solemnly, without cognitive dissonance.
What will matter then, when History passes judgement, is what decent people the world over feel in their gut now: Saddam's hanging is a good thing for mankind." --Nibras Kazimi
Dec. 29, 2006:
"Want to hear an unlikely take on the impending execution of Saddam Hussein? No problem. It says right here that Saddam "will go to the gallows with his head held high, because he built a strong united Iraq without sectarianism. He was considered as a strategic regional power. And as he goes to the gallows, those who imprisoned him will stand with their heads bent with shame and embarrassment because they cannot hide their own crimes against the country and its people."
Says who? An unrepentant Iraqi Baathist? Saddam's uncle? No. It's Abdel Bari Atwan, the Palestinian journalist who writes for the London-based Arabic-language newspaper, Al Quds Al Arabi. Atwan and Al Quds have come up on this blog before. In November, I noted that Atwan's new book about Al Qaeda had been celebrated in the pages of The Washington Post by intelligence analyst Michael Scheuer. Scheuer thought that Atwan's take on terror was just "excellent," and called Atwan's paper "the best Arabic-language daily newspaper."
What a thing to say. Al Quds offers a predictable Arab Nationalist line, and brims with the usual conspiracies and exaggerations. In that sense, Atwan's tearful farewell to his hero Saddam is probably typical of Arab Nationalist reaction to the verdict.
For example, the "excellent" Atwan manages to concede that under Saddam, "There were massacres during his rule, yes." And he even concedes that, "He violated human rights, yes." My favorite of Atwan's "concessions," however, is a remarkable formulation that mitigates Saddam's massive crimes by characterizing (if not actually slandering) his victims. He writes, "He attacked the extremists who opposed him with various weapons, yes."
For the "excellent" Atwan, true justice would be more hangings. He asks that Iraq's current leadership (Talabani, Jaafari, Maliki, Pachachi, Hakim, etc) "be prosecuted for igniting a sectarian civil war and engaging in the worst form of ethnic cleansing, and stealing money and cooperating with the foreigner against their country and their people. And we don't think that their punishment will be less than execution by hanging. Saddam Hussein will go to the gallows with his head held high, in front of those who will lower their heads in shame for what their blood-stained hands did to hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis."
Atwan is a Palestinian, and Saddam championed Palestinians even as he trod on Iraqis' necks. Indeed, the enthusiasm for Saddam of people like Atwan is one of the reasons that many Iraqis became ambivalent about the Palestinian cause; they felt that their own lives under Saddam had become hostage to that issue.
Meanwhile, in Iraq, some (though not all) people are volunteering to put the noose around Saddam's neck themselves." --Iraq Pundit
"The only thing that America is guilty of is that of underestimating the viciousness of the enemy, and not so much his military capability; because the enemy’s weapon is not so much military prowess, but evil and viciousness." --Alaa the Mesopotamian
2004: "So the venerable “Association of Moslem Scholars” has found it necessary to protest publicly in a press conference, for the first time, the taking of the French hostages. They pleaded with the kidnappers (in a rather loving manner) for their release. The learned scholars have not protested much, though, about the numerous other kidnappings murders and beheadings etc. involving other nationals including Iraqis. Thus, it seems that the practice itself is not particularly objectionable, but that the nationality of the victim is the main consideration. The murder and kidnapping of many doctors, professors and other prominent professionals has not even raised a single murmur from these “scholars”. This is yet one more shining example of the creative application of applied theology as practiced by the distinguished “scholars”, which is stunning and amazing as it seems to contradict all our notions of justice, equality and abhorrence of violence and murder. " -Alaa the Mesopotamian
@ IraqiMojo... In an effort to convince you that I am (ethnic)Greek and not Arab, and a final plea to your humanity as an Australian to an American......

Socrates paraphrased..
"I seek the truth, I question everything, and let the political chips fall where they may"
God paraphrased...
"thou shall not bear false witness". .. Quite simply, that took us to war remember...(WMD), and that's indisputable.
OUR armies stood behind the false witnesses. .. indisputable.
Now, I'm not religious, but for those that are... they say "the lord works in mysterious ways".. do you really believe that we were on the side of God by following false witnesses?
Saddam gassed his own population numnuts.
Are you here to teach us the way of the lord?
LOL
You're such a philanthropist Aton..
Talk to the yanks, who put him there in the first place, supplied the delivery systems and satellite surveillance and gave the nod; and now they've put someone else in place and it's worse than ever.
It's just flag waving and fun for you.
No, I pity you.
How sure are you that it's Arabs bombing all the civilians,,,?
Do you remember these 2 British SAS, apprehend in civilian clothing, car, weapons, and a car boot full of Implemented Explosives Devices??
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/JeffWells/uk-basra.jpg
Shooting at civilians and cops??
Only to be busted out of Jail by the 'liberation troops'.
There have been numerous other reports of 'liberating forces' masquerading as civilians.
We'll ignore that and any other information which puts us in a bad light, shall we?
Keep pumping it Aton.
"In an effort to convince you that I am (ethnic)Greek and not Arab"
I believe you, Phoney the Greek. It was a theory, and I was wrong. Are you married to an Arab woman? How did you become interested in Layla Anwar and conspiracy theories?
Mojo: "I see. The resistance mass murders Iraqis in order to punish America for responding to 9/11 by invading and liberating Iraq."
At least you admit they attacked because of 9/11, and not WMD.
But you are leaving something out between the "invasion" part and the "targeting Iraqis" part.
An event took place in between those two; and the event was: collaboration of some Iraqis with the occupier.
The target is the occupation, and whoever aligns with them. If zero Iraqis ally with them, then zero Iraqis are the target.
If 12 million Iraqis ally with them, then 12 million Iraqis are target. This is completely up to them.
When they place that ballot in the box, they have filled out an application to die.
So, I absolutely don't want to hear any complaints when they finally get what they asked for
"Saddam and his henchmen murdered a million Iraqi people between 1980 and 2003."
The first time I ever heard of Saddam Hussein was in 1990. Iraqi internal goings-on are a separate matter from this Crusade today.
Nibras Kazimi drools:
"I remember watching the [Saddam] trial closely and saying to myself, 'Tyrants across the Middle East must be having the runs.'"
Do you know Bashar Asad's response to this. (To the suggestion that other dictators in the region could be next?)
He said: "Anyone could be next."
(i.e. car bomb threat)
I read Layla Anwars work and unlike stupid she has insight, knowledge, analysis, and is very informative. She writes in both English and Arabic and has excellent sources. She is an Iraqi and lives in her homeland so she knows the country, the people, the language and it shows in her writings. She is also well known and has been quoted and interviewed in many media outlets throughout the world. Her work has been translated into dozens of languages.
LETS COMPARE HER TO STUPID
Stupied has never been to Iraq. Stupid does not know Arabic. Stupid relies on memri for his information. Stupid does not know how to write. Stupid just repeats the same boring 3 sentences about saddam and arabjarab constantly. Stupid is shallow. Stupid is superficial. Stupid has no actual information. Stupid does not even have an opinion he can share. Stupid seems to only have two readers and since they actually do read what he writes that makes them the only two people stupider than stupid. Stupid has never been used as a source, or interviewed, or quoted, or anything. Stupid is, like phoneyid said, just a stupid cheerleader for war.
Stupid is contemplating volunteering for the Iraqi puppet police but he has not made up his mind yet. We are eagerly awaiting his decision. If stupid decides to go we should have a farewell party for him at Starbucks.
Mojo,
Is there any chance that Habis could just be some kind of virus or computer worm that has plugged itself into your blog? This lunatic isn't as entertaining as "All-American"--the Baathist blowhard who, by his own admission has traveled to Syria and conversed with the "resistance".
It could be a different rat. I'm not sure. There are many of them in California, especially LA.
Stupid you sound jealous of Layla Anwar. Is it because she lives in Iraq and speaks Arabic? It is because she is well known and you are known to be well stupid. Is it because her blog actually has visitors in the tens of thousands? Is it because she is an Iraqi voice who is quoted and relied upon by many media outlets? Is it because she can actually write unlike you? Is it because her work is translated into dozens of languages? And you just get impressed with a Jordanian who speaks English? Why are you jealous? She is Iraqi so it is natural she knows what happens in Iraq. You live in San Francisco and speak only english and rely on memri for information. Do not feel so bad stupid. It is ok. Nobody expects anything else from a stupid like you.

I am not All-American and you are not clever. lol
Layla Anwar lives in Iraq? But I thought she was caught by her ex having sex with a minor in Cairo not long ago.
Habis points out:
"Stupid you should know you do not have to be an Arab or a Muslim to oppose war, invasion, mass murder, shock and awe"
Yes. And the Greeks are a nice decent people, so this guy 'Phoneyid' knows what's up.
I would venture to guess that most people in Greece proper oppose the evil actions of the United States in Iraq
"My experiences in Greece", by an Iraqi refugee
(Interview with NOAS)
"I am a young man from Baghdad in Iraq. In Iraq, I have worked with the American forces and as a bodyguard for the Ministry of Culture. It is because of this that I was threatened by armed groups that belong to the Muslim army. Therefore, I was forced to seek refuge from Iraq.
I left Iraq first to Syria and from there to Turkey where I stayed for three months. With the help of some smugglers I went to Greece by sea. We were 45 people in total from different nationalities on a boat. The Turkish police shot in the air to intimidate us. They threw some sort of a lasso rope after us, to catch us or frighten us. At the same time they were causing waves with their boats, until we reached the Greek side of the borders. There, we experienced the same as we did with the Turks. The Greeks were causing waves, and they shot at the boat until we jumped in the sea.
There was an island directly in the vicinity, Chios. We swam to the island where we were caught by the Greek army. After that, the military delivered us to the Greek police. They arrested us in a small room, and they took our fingerprints. I refused to do it because I wanted to travel further in Europe. They threatened me and beat me up brutally. They used an electric stick of which I still have bruises on my nose visible because of the treatment I received there.
Afterwards, they sent us to a prison on the island, Chios. The prison lies on a hill and the length of the building there was around 30 to 40 meters. There were more than 250 persons in the prison from different nationalities. There were two policemen/prison guards, Smadi and George, which had the responsibility over the prison."
One month ago: 'Turkey has strongly condemned the multiple bomb attacks in Baghdad that killed at least 118 people and injured 197 others.
“Turkey harshly condemns this loathsome terrorist attack that took place at a time when important progress was recorded to restore democratization and stability following approval of the law regarding the elections planned to take place in Iraq at the beginning of 2010,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The statement added, “Turkey calls on Iraqi brothers to leave aside all differences in those difficult days and act with common sense and with the feeling of unity and integrity. Turkey will continue to stand in solidarity with brotherly Iraq in their fight against terrorist circles aiming to drag the country into an atmosphere of instability and chaos.” '
Xe's workers may have sprayed fire at innocent bystanders, but before you judge them TOO harshly,
question if you could keep your own
" spooked " from turning into " panic " as soon as bullets fly past your own head. There's no excuse for irresponsible fire, but you might find some understanding of how it happens, even among suppossed combat "pros"
I.M.
You are in fact a wanker of the highest order.
In spite of pleas or information put to you it's as unlikely a feat to teach you compassion as it is to cause a jackass to blush.
Although the Greek 'myth' may be one of a view as their inherited culture and their language being rich and a basis for what is best within the 'West'; contrasted to the American 'myth' it is not one of a perceived 'manifest destiny' as you seem to embrace.
"manifest destiny", Which I see as akin to a 'divine right of kings'; IS a perceived God Given right to push wishes or expectations down the throats of others; a right to do what America thinks is good for others even if others don't want it, while insisting that Americans have the right to justice and self determination.
Greece is a population of under 12 million with an undocumented immigrant population (what you call "illegals")of an estimated 2 million.
A large part of the Greek myth evidenced in their commonly used vocabulary is the word "φιλοξενία" (philo-xenia) ie [love or friend of the foreigner or stranger].
The closest word in the English language being "hospitality". An English word very shallow in it's scope to encompass human warmth; a word we also use to describe the hotel and restaurant industry.
Unemployment and expenses are high in Greece and wages are low.
Although the Greeks are inclined to view the undocumented immigrants as the root of the heightened crime rate (and they don't like it at all), they are also inclined to understand that these people are victims of their circumstance.
You will find some racial abuse in Greece, but unlike many other Western Nation, in contrast, there is little evidence of marauding groups of Neo-Nazi Nationalist thugs.
Remember, not withstanding 'exclusionists' or supremacists even Israel has Neo-Nazis.
And for your information, you ignorant wanker, my wife is of Anglo-Saxon stock.
Your declared assumption that she is Arabic betrays your contempt for others in that IT DEMONSTRATES your inability to begin to understand how anyone without Arabic ties could even possibly feel any compassion for them.
Not that there aren't Greeks like you too, but it's a crying shame that you have failed to embrace what is best from the two cultures that have influenced you and only embraced what is worst.
I'm no tertiary educated intellectual either, in fact I have a lowly certificate in Motor Mechanics, but your English is mediocre and your Arabic apparently pathetic, and your understanding and analysis of both cultures (or any) sucks too...
the Greeks have a word for people like you... 'Barbarian'.
You are a poor and spiteful propagandist.
Oct 28, 2009: SOS Palestinian minors and other refugees tortured in Greece – 5 women 3 children drowned in Aegean
"A 17 year old Palestinian has accused his guards of brutally beating him, in the Pagani “detention center” for immigrants without papers, in the island of Lesvos, close to Turkey. The incident happened just a few hours after the vice minister of the newly named “Ministry of Protection of the citizens” has visited the place and expressed his indignation over the living conditions of hundreds of immigrants stuffed in an old depot transformed to a nasty prison. The vice-minister left, the newspapers wrote articles about how much the new “socialist” government cares about human rights, and the policemen punished the immigrants and refugees that dared to denounce their ill treatment to the vice-minister by torturing them even more!
The incident came only weeks after the alleged assassination of Pakistani immigrant Mohammed Kamran Atif, after having been tortured in a police station, according to a statement of his brother, supported by the Pakistani community and antiracist and leftist organizations. Although officialy the young immigrant had died of a lung disease, a second examination revealed traces of torture… Till now nobody has been arrested, apart from 8 anarchist protesters that participated in a violent demonstration outside the police station."
One doesn't need good writing skills to condemn the "resistance" that kills Iraqi civilians. If you *truly* cared about Iraqis, you would encourage Layla Anwar to join the political process and work for peace in Iraq, instead of preaching "resistance" and worshipping Saddam.
PhoneyID,
Very well said. Its a pleasure reading you and you are absolutely correct. Thank you for your compassion and concern for the Iraqi people.
It is an Arab thing to do, to pretend to care for Iraqis and preach resistance while the resistance blows up Iraqi civilians. To see an Australian Greek do it is new.
I'll keep a bit of an eye on that site.
I want to know what's going wrong, and what human rights 'my people' (esp Au) are accused of having breached.... unlike you.
That Greece has 'schemes' on Afghan resources is news to me, that America has, is common knowledge.
The article's tittle is misleading in light of the article contents, the deaths are not attributed to or even reported to being suspected as being at the hand of Greeks.
Reference is made to The riots in Greece last year when a 15yo boy was killed by police. Even though he was a Greek, it demonstrates Greek sensitivities when they perceive an injustice.
People globally were saying that in reaction to state injustices we should all 'Go Greek'.
In spite of their massive immigration problems it was Australia that murdered an Indian boy last week, and burned another one.. and it's business as usual for the minutemen at the US-Mexico border.
As I said, we have racism globally, but in light of our causes for grievances, the Greeks are sweet...
Feel free to [ctl-c > ctl-v] for your responce. We've come to expect such in depth analysis from you.
Praised be Blackwater; Xe.
The Greek people I've met were very nice. I'm sure Greece is a wonderful country. It looks beautiful in photos. I just picked out a couple of articles about refugees in Greece to show that Greece is not perfect.

PhoneyID it was interesting reading this passage above. Thank you for it. I have noticed this about the people of Greece. Specifically a dedication to issues of social and economic justice. Correct me if Im wrong but I believe this is due to a progressive political culture and tradition. In that sense I think we should all "Go Greek"
If you noticed stupid is not only intellectually shallow but is morally repulsive. He is definitely not a product of Arab society nor Greece and I suspect he did not go to the best of schools if any.

I'm not certain I can speak for them.
I'm nearly 50yo and only spent a brief period there when I was in my teens, having been born in Australia.
Greeks like to discuss politics, even theoretical and philosophy... and like the Dutch, 'we' can be opinionated, and worse yet (perhaps), we 'know' ;-) that we have the blood of Socrates and Aristotle in our veins.
Political/philosophical discussions/arguments are relished and even provoked.
The good thing about that, is that it educates those engaged in the 'argument', and it often DOES become an argument.
'Polite circles' in our Anglo-centric cultures seem to cringe when 'uncomfortable' political issues are raised at social gatherings. It is viewed as distasteful by many to raise certain issues particularly those which question societal values.
Greeks love an 'argument'/debate and can engage in it while singing and drinking and dancing and hugging each other moments later.
One subscribing more to the Anglo-centric way, can find such arguments cause to leave the barbecue.
Now it may sound harsh and of course I'm only generalising, as both cultures have both tendencies within them, but I see the Greek culture more inclined toward 'a good argument' and again, these are only my opinions, but I think a good debate will consider more or all possibilities/contingencies and can only bring us closer to the truth.
It's very unfortunate, not only for Arabs and Persians but for humanity as a whole that what is known as 'Greek Thought' is so often discussed in the West as early culture while we (lay people) never discuss the advances for Humanity by the Middle East which predate the Greeks.
Persia's King Cyrus the Great freed all slaves (including 40-100 thousand Hebrews), a copy of his declaration of human rights sits outside the Security Council Chambers in the UN Building on the 1st floor (I believe)... Cataract Surgery, astronomy, the creation of 'Alphabet'(Gr word) and writing words when others used hieroglyphs in Sumeria and Babylon. 360degree compass divisions, calendars, while much of Europe were still throwing sticks and stones at each other.
Babylon's King Hammurabbi, 3500 years ago, I've been given to understand, wrote off all debts for his citizens because they were being overwhelmed by debt.
I wonder how the American Federal Reserve Bank would react to that story getting around in America today.
IraqiMojo should learn a bit about his people and perhaps find some cause to take some pride, and wish to see their nations advance ....them selves....; and not ignore that struggles toward advancement have been thwarted by Western imperialist interests for well over a century.

See what I mean, I can't help myself... the blood of Socrates compels me..
I hope there are no Greeks or Turks reading this... truth be known... after 400 years of Ottoman rule in Greece until relatively recently, there could be some Turk blood in there too.
Nah.. Imposible ;-)

Well, the Ottomans perpetrated the first massive genocide of the Armenians. This might explain your compassion for murders, tyrants, thugs and degenerates.

Phoneyid, in your first comment you said "They offer you poetry and you tell them that the U.S. is killing Jordanian Infidels"
Where did I say the US is killing Jordanian infidels? I said in Arabic the Americans killed the Jordanian donkey (الامريكي قتل الحمار الاردني). Did you translate that one with google?
Much of the civilised world, including Americans too, believe Israel is a terrorist state, that the US Gov is covering up 911 or was complicit if not central to 911, is opposed to the Iraq invasion... and a string of other 'conspiracy theories' and others like you can claim to believe in the "magic bullet theory".
We are a certain of these as we are that Israel has nuclear weapons, that Japan had surrendered prior to Hiroshima, that Vietnamese hadn't fired torpedoes at American ships in the Gulf of Tonkin, and that Salvatore Alliendes died on September 11 so America could put in Pinochet.
America has a history for assassinating leaders and installing dictators, to the complete denial of indigenous self determination; and you can continue with your 'doctrine of plausible deniability' but we can be as certain that America is an Imperialist State which has intentionally caused much death in the Middle East and elsewhere as we are that young men will masturbate and deny it.

........ الكافر= infidel
PhoneyID;
America is an Imperialist State which has intentionally caused much death in the Middle East
The biggest mass murderers of Arabs are other Arabs, not Israelis, Westerners, or Americans.
Much of the civilised world, including Americans too, believe Israel is a terrorist state,
No they don't. Israel isn't being sanctioned by the global community. Israel isn't exporting terrorists to the rest of the world nor do their citizens invite extra scrutiny at international airports.
Wishing Israel was defined as a terrorist state ain't gonna make it so.
America has a history for assassinating leaders and installing dictators
The vast majority of the world's dictators are self installed or put there by their own people (as well as assassinated). The middle-east is no exception.
Ditch the idea that third world people are dumb sheep without minds, agendas, or free will of their own. It's racist and it's disgusting.
young men will masturbate and deny it.
Have fun, PhoneyID. By the amount of posting you do here, you have little else to do.
So kafir is translated as "infidel". Interesting. I always thought "kafir" means "sinner". The dictionary defines "infidel" as a person who does not believe in religion or who adheres to a religion other than one's own.
In my comment I wrote:

It means "The American killed the despicable murderer sinner, the Jordanian donkey." I linked to a video showing the US military dropping a large bomb on Zarqawi's hideout.
I suppose the "word" infidel can be used to mean "sinner" and many people may believe that Zarqawi WAS an infidel because he killed innocent people, which contradicts Islam. But I meant that Zarqawi was a sinner.
"Salvatore Alliendes died on September 11 so America could put in Pinochet."
I just love how people like Phoneyid forget history and exactly what was happening back in that time frame. America was embroiled in a conflict called the COLD WAR, which you probably pay little attention to.
Ironically, I've come across some very dumb people who will launch themselves into a screed about Pinochet, but then turn around and defend people like Fidel Castro and Che Gueverra, who were allied with the Soviet Union and trying to bring the western hemisphere into its sphere of influence. Albeit, America was doing the same thing in the USSR's backyard, but its wrong and unfair to portray this time period as if America was marching around the world harassing innocent governments. The right thing to do would be to say the Americans and the Russians made a mistake by using the rest of the world as their battleground to fight out their differences. Then again, plenty of people around the world were eager to get caught up in the conflict and take sides.
