Iranian Physics Professor Killed

"Ali-Mohammadi's violent death comes after a nephew of Mousavi was killed Dec 27. According to state-run media, Ali Habibi Mousavi was shot in the chest while getting into his car. Opposition Web sites say he was killed by security forces during anti-government demonstrations that day.

Iran has accused the United States of kidnapping in May a nuclear scientist who was on pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and of snatching a former deputy minister of defense in 2007 while visiting Istanbul.

One student of nuclear physics told the Los Angeles Times she believed Ali-Mohammadi was killed because of his outspoken support for the student movement."
