A third of New Yorkers think Muslims are more sympathetic to terrorists than non-Muslim Americans

Damn!

"Nearly a decade after the Sept. 11 attacks ignited a wave of anxiety about Muslims, many in the country’s biggest and arguably the most cosmopolitan city still have an uneasy relationship with Islam. One fifth of New Yorkers acknowledged animosity toward Muslims. Thirty-three percent said that, compared with other American citizens, Muslims were more sympathetic to terrorists. And nearly 60 percent said that their friends had negative feelings toward Muslims because of 9/11."

It isn't only 9/11. Practically every day, there is a news story about another terror attack by Muslims.

There are training camps in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and North Africa turning out a steady stream of people with skills in the construction of car bombs, IEDs, suicide vests, and devices for destroying air liners.

The poll just shows that 2/3's of New Yorkers have their heads up their asses. Of course Muslims are more sympathetic to terrorists. How many Americans supported the actions of Timothy Mcveigh? One or two per cent maybe?

Bin Laden had the support of 72% of Palestinians after 9/11. 59% of Indonesians. 56% of Jordanians. 44% of Nigerians supported bin Laden in '03. 54% support him today. Bin Laden is a world famous terrorist and he has the support of millions of Muslims around the world. Anyone who thinks Muslims are LESS likely to support terrorists is deaf, dumb, and blind.

I wonder what percentage of American Muslims sympathize with terrorists. I doubt it would be higher than 1%.

59% of Indonesians supported Bin Ladin? That's surprising. And only 56% of Jordanians? I think a bunch of Jordanians were lying in that poll.

There are approximately 3,000,000 US Muslims Mojo. 2/3's to 3/4's are immigrants. Many immigrated from countries where a majority of the population supports terrorism. Countries like Nigeria, Jordan, and Indonesia. That doesn't mean a majority of immigrants support terrorism. But, the percentage is likely much higher than 2%.

Yes that is amazing, considering that your definition of a terror attack is: "something done by muzlims."

No, it isn't. A hundred years ago, terror attacks were mostly carried out by anarchists from Russia and Eastern Europe. Then between the wars, there were many terror attacks in the Balkans. Nowadays, the Maoists in India are regular terrorists, and until recently so were the Tamils in Sri Lanka.

However, for the past few decades, attacks by Muslims have been world wide and frequent. The others have been localised.

New Yorkers are conflicted in a poll about the right to build a mosque near ground zero:
"It polled 1,497 registered voters throughout New York state; 54 percent said Muslims have the right to build a mosque near ground zero, but in a separate question, 53 percent said they shouldn't be allowed to do so because of the sensitivities of victims' relatives. It had a plus or minus 2.5 percentage point margin of error."

"7. About two-thirds of all Muslims in the United States are immigrants and their descendants according to Yvonne Haddad and Adair T. Lummis

8. However, the American Muslim Council reports that 42% of all Muslims are African-Americans, 24% are of South Asian origin and 12% of Arab origin"

Also keep in mind that most Middle Easterners who emigrate to America are happy to escape the hardcore Islamists in the Mid East, happy to be free and probably loving America. The average American Muslim does not support terrorists. There may be a small portion of American Muslims who sympathize with Bin Ladin (Habis el Urduni?), and maybe even a bigger portion who think Arabs & Muslims had nothing to do with 9/11, but most do not sympathize with terrorists. That's just silly.

In Britain, the extremists tend to be second or third generation, born in Britain. I don't know if this is true in the US.

No Cox, the word terrorism used to have some meaning in the past, but then the term was completely and utterly profaned by the U.S. after 2001, and today it is exclusively used for stoking hate against muslims

If a jew kills 400 children, that is great and a cause for celebration. If a muslim kills a soldier on a military base, that is a "terror attack." The bias is clear.

Unfortunately for you, your good will is not reciprocated and they still hate muzzies militant or not.

Let's hope there is more tension towards the anniversary of the blessed raids

Dolly;

Where did you ever see Jews dancing in the streets and passing out candy on the news that some Muslim children had been killed by an Israeli missile?

The answer is never. Try again.
