This is interesting. The ski industry is moving away from the use of fossil fuels, because they recognize that emissions that result from the burning of fossil fuels causes global warming, which threatens their existence. In October an economist who works for the British government published a study which concluded that global warming 'could damage the global economy on the scale of the Great Depression or the world wars by spawning environmental devastation that could cost 5 to 20 percent of the world's annual gross domestic product.'
The oil industry and the oil men who comprise the Bush administration have been slow to react. It reminds me of the famous quote by Upton Sinclair: "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."
