Israel allied with Sunni Arab states

They are all afraid of Iran.

"an alliance of anxiety"

How true. How sad.

Will the sunnis join the choir of Israel-bashers in the aftermath of an israeli strike on Iran - "disproportionate force" and whatever? Most likely. Still, I wonder if such an event could change the public perception of Israel in the arab world (for the better - I doubt there's any place left for worse...).

How do you see Israel in this context?

I'm not sure how the Arabs would react to an Israeli strike on Iran. It depends on the kind of strike, I suppose. If Israel manages to destroy the reactor without causing collateral damage, the Arabs probably wouldn't mind. Even if collateral damage is caused, maybe they wouldn't mind. I don't know.

Personally I don't like the regime in Tehran, and I wouldn't mind seeing them overthrown, hopefully by the Iranian people. But if Israel "stands up to Iran" I'm not sure how I would react. Again, it depends on the severity of the strike. A Jewish friend told me once that he believes Israel will have to strike Iran with nuclear weapons. I would not support that kind of a strike, needless to say.

In any case, I will not view Israel favorably until they treat the Palestinians with respect and fairness.
