I like Barack Obama

I haven't posted in a while, readers have reminded me. Thank you, faithful readers! I am flattered that you are interested in my writings and the articles that I link to, even though you may disagree with them. But I have lost the motivation to blog. I'm not sure why. I used to enjoy writing and expressing my thoughts about all kinds of things I thought were important. I still think about those things, politics especially. I watch at least one hour of MSNBC (usually Lawrence O'Donnel) almost every night. I love Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Real Time With Bill Maher is a must. It's why I got a DVR.

I like to watch shows about history and science. I'm reading "The House of Wisdom" for a second time. I have learned new things at work. Very interesting things that involve math and science. But somehow I have lost the motivation to write about all the interesting things I have learned. My life is changing. I am shifting priorities. I am busy with my job and my social life. I am riding my bike everywhere.

I have often started writing posts without finishing them and never published them. The other night I wanted to write a post about John McCain and his defense of Huma Abadin, an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. I thought it was a noble thing that Senator McCain did, and it reminded me of the time he shook his head and grabbed the microphone from an old lady who had heard that Obama was an Arab. "No, no he's not, ma'am, He's a decent family man citizen whom I just happen to disagree with," Mr. McCain said respectfully yet assertively. I was going to call that post "I like John McCain.

On another night I started writing another post about Michael Moore's movie "Capitalism: A Love Story". It was a great movie that featured part of Jimmy Carter's 1975 speech about a crisis of confidence in America. I wrote the post, even embedded the YouTube video, and then I fell asleep in my bed before finishing it.

Really the only thing I would like to say tonight before I fall asleep is that I like Barack Obama and I hope he will be reelected. Obama did not grow up rich like Mitt Romney did. Romney refuses to release his tax returns, even as a growing number of Republicans demand that he does. Mrs. Romney got on TV and said today "we've given all you people you need to know." I think that is one of the most condescending things I've heard a rich person say in a long time. I would be very surprised if Mitt Romney is elected President, but it may happen, given the ignorance and prejudice of many American voters today. But I hope it doesn't happen and I hope Barack Obama is reelected President.

The war is over, Mojo, at least for us. The Iraq war that is. I think it was a huge motivating factor for many of us to either blog or comment. America is moving on to other issues or problems now. Global climate change is a near and present danger, despite those who insist on ignoring it. The chickens are coming home to roost with the economic mess in Europe and the United States. Real life is intruding on the virtual. Maybe that is as it should be, because in the end that is where we really exist, isn't it?

That's not to say there isn't room in our lives for the virtual sharing we have been doing for the past 10 years. I have learned alot from people I have met through blogging, yes, even those I have disagreed with. To be able to exchange ideas with people from countries whom I would not normally get to meet has been enlightening to say the least and an opportunity I am glad I did not miss.

There should be a balance between our real and virtual lives, because I think each can enrich the other.

So if I had to vote, I would say keep blogging when you have something to say. People who have enjoyed your writing will check in when the mood strikes, even if they don't always leave comments.

And as things stand right now I will be voting for Obama as well.

Obama is too weak, so he invites evildoers of commie persuasion to attack freedom.

A recent example is the Commie veto at the UN.
Obama is too naive and friendly, so he thought he could reason with commies.

So Obama needs to be replaced with Mitt Romney who will be more aggressive in defending Liberty worldwide.

Hello Iraqi Mojo,

Since I came to America I lost the passion of writing in my blog. I don't know why. I got busy, a lot of things to do here not like when I was living in Iraq. Recently,I get back writing in my blog after along time of absence. Keep writing in your blog. I like reading your posts.

Note: my blog address changes to http://easternliberty.blogspot.com/

Freedom.

it is a lie that Romney didn't release tax returns. Obama just lies all the time and has no new ideas. He is a coward and throws everyone under the bus when it makes him look bad and takes credit for what others do for his own political purposes. He is a danger to not just the US but every nation striving for a Democracy.

Yes Romney finally released his 2011 tax return. And he'd already released his 2010 tax return. But he refused to release any more. "We've given you people all you need to know," Mrs. Romney said.

Mitt Romney paid a 14% tax rate, the highest he's ever paid probably. And he wants to pay less.

Romney is a selfish douchebucket multimillionaire, like so many Republicans these days.

Mother Jones: "He's still only released two years' worth of tax returns. Romney released his 2010 tax return in January. On Friday, he released his 2011 return and a very brief "summary" of the past 20 years' worth of returns. That summary was missing the kind of detail that would have provided a full picture of Romney's finances, rather than the incomplete snapshot the campaign has provided to date. Romney's father, George Romney, released 12 years of returns when he ran for president in 1968."

But there is a wider battle: between the democratic powers of the world, versus the dictatorships.

That is why you see places like Venezuela, Cuba and Iran on the same team.

So the democratic powers are represented in the UN by the U.S., UK and France.
And the dictatorships of the world are represented in the UN by Russia and China.

Obama's weakness is not good for the side of Democracy.

Here we have a good opportunity to squash Assad, which would weaken Iran and Russia. But Obama is not taking the war seriously.
Romney is likely to do a better job at shipping heavy weapons to the FSA.

So these international issues are much more important than the ridiculous internal bickering about tax returns.

There are fears in the US that the mujrimeen among the muslimeen in Syria will gain power.

"Fears about the eventual break-up of Syria or the spillover of the conflict into other countries - notably Lebanon and Iraq - are very real.

So too are concerns that - amidst the chaos - Jihadist groups are prospering and the risk of the conflict acting as a magnet for such elements only grows over time.

This general chaos together with the Jihadist threat is part of the reason that, up to now, the US in particular has been very reluctant to arm the Syrian opposition."

According to Democracy Index, Syria ranks number 157 out of 167 countries.
So definitely it is a good idea to stir an uprising, because there is no way but up from here.
