Apparently many schmucks in America and Israel think so. I used to hear this a lot from the Zionuts on the Yahoo message boards more than a decade ago. Evidently Newt Gingrich (schmuck extraordinaire who wants to be President) also believes this:
'The campaign sugar daddy of Newt Gingrich (and soon, Romney) is Sheldon Adelson, a multibillionaire casino owner and hawkish Zionist who endorses Gingrich’s view that the Palestinians are “an invented people” who have no historic claim to a homeland. Gingrich told Aipac that “if an Israeli prime minister decides that he has to avoid the threat of a second Holocaust through pre-emptive measures, that I would require no advanced notice to understand why I would support the right of Israel to survive in a dangerous world.” '

To the person who wrote the comment above accusing Mojo of being a "fat balding American."
How do we know YOU'RE not the fat balding American troll here to stir up controversy?
Your use of the word 'schmuck' does tickle somewhat as it is of course a Yiddish expression that has permeated daily language, and not just English at that. Of course the Joos have so much control, don't they? and they have traveled so. Shalom for now.
Yes I love using the word "schmuck" to describe people who deny the truth.
There was a lot of immigration of Arabs into Palestine in the early 20C, partly drawn by the increased economic activity resulting from the Jewish immigration. So it could be argued that the Palestinians were recent arrivals.
But other Arabs had been there for a long time. Their ancestors had presumably converted from Judaism in the early days of Islam.
The other argument I have seen is that Palestine was not a separate state but part of the Ottoman Empire, and that Palestine and Jordan are really one country. But the name Palestine has been used for that part of the Levant since Roman times.
